The ACH Network processed 21.5 billion transactions valued at more than $46.8 trillion in 2017, representing increases of 5.7 percent and 6.9 percent, respectively, over 2016, according to new data released by NACHA
The scheduling algorithm takes into account the number of available dock doors at the station. Holidays, maintenance
schedules, special handling docks and other parameters are considered in optimizing availability.
Forwarders select an available dock and enter a preferred time. The Schedule Optimizer analyzes all requests
and available slots for that dock or suggests an alternative dock with the nearest available time.
2017 marks another significant achievement in the evolution of the ACH Network, as transaction volume was exceptionally strong and Same Day ACH was made fully available,” said NACHA Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Jane Larimer.
A frequent trucker algorithm parses the queue requests to allocate dock schedules to known shippers in the
order of reservation priority. Critical shipments and perishables receive a higher priority than most.
